The Greater Phoenix Economic Council (GPEC) is an economic development organization dedicated to fostering growth in the Greater Phoenix region. GPEC is globally recognized as a top economic development organization that works to attract and grow quality businesses and advocate for the competitiveness of Greater Phoenix. Collaborating with 22 member cities, Maricopa and Pinal County and over 200 private businesses, GPEC has played a key role in the economic landscape for the past 34 years. GPEC has assisted over 987 companies, resulting in the creation of over 182,500 jobs and a substantial $66 billion in capital investment. GPEC has successfully led three EDA grants from 2015 to the present.
The acting Regional Innovation Office (RIO) is Yoo & Co. Accelerators (YCA), an Arizona-headquartered business accelerator focused on early-stage, science-based technology startups. They offer extensive services to entrepreneurs in the healthcare and life science space, including helping founders connect and form well-matched partnerships with ideal investors who are best able to support their companies in achieving the highest potential. They have close relations across the landscape of investors – from individual angel investors to Series A venture capital. The RIO will be instrumental in propelling the ideation to the development of the region’s cross-sector innovation agenda and shoulders the responsibility of ensuring transparent and effective governance, providing leadership to the Consortium to navigate and realize our shared objectives.
